Phantasm FrostHorse Information
Registered Number: 1479
Nickname: Frost
Age: Two (Y12)
Breed: Thoroughbred
Colour & Markings: Bay
Height: 16 hands
Gender: Colt
(Gender Bender applied by Cav)
Personality: Frost is a pretty good-natured colt, for the most part. His biggest flaw is that he's needy, and will get attention pretty much any way he can. The best course of action is to pay attention to him when he's around - talk to him, pet him, fawn over him. Otherwise, he's something like a toddler - if he can't get good attention, he'll settle for bad. It isn't normally aggressive - just something like kicking his stall or just plain acting badly, like refusing to stand still on his lead and pinning his ears at passing horses. If another horse in the area is getting attention when he isn't, he's even worse. If it's out on pasture, he'll try to chase that horse off - biting, kicking, whatever he has to do. On lead, he'll lunge at the other horse, even if he can't get to them. It's not a great situation. If he's by himself, with no one around, he's pretty placid. He doesn't get bored easily, and is generally content to eat and nap. People are the x factor that can either bring out the most extraordinary things from him, or cause him to be a dud. He has to be handled correctly - praise is the only way to get him to run well. If he's punished or reprimanded, even verbally, he'll sulk and you'll get nothing from him. The Valkyrie staff figured him out pretty fast, and he's been an overall charming, great boy to be around.

Racing Style: Frost is not an incredibly difficult animal. He starts out of the gate about average, not in front but not trailing. He sits on the heels of the preceders, a couple of lengths off the lead. As long as the jockey is sweet to him, he won't fight for the lead. About halfway through the race, he's start putting on the gas, edging up (generally) the outside, unless he finds a hole on the rail. He responds better to voice and hands than a whip, so the jockey's urging is all it takes for him to drive forward, not taking no for an answer. It's a mixture of wanting to beat out the competitors and wanting to please his rider.
