Greater AvalancheHorse Information
Registered Number: 1169
Nickname: Ginny
Age: Four (Y10)
Breed: Thoroughbred
Colour & Markings: Black
Height: 16.2 hands
Gender: Filly
Personality: Ginny's a demanding filly, but an affectionate one. She hates being the only one in the barn, and tends to kick the walls of her stall to at least illicite a response from the humans around - either a shout to stop or someone actually coming to her stall. She prefers positive attention, but if she's not getting it, she'll go for anything. Once attention is on her, however, she's like a dream to work with. She's smart and willing, and picks up on what's needed from her trainer and jockey. She can be a little headstrong in a race, but can pretty easily be brought back under control as long as she's placed correctly in the field. Ginny is fussy around other mares, being quite the dominant individual, and can be a handful if she decides she wants to put another horse in their place. She doesn't get along very well with geldings, feeling the need to dominate them as well.

Racing Information
Grade: Five
Race Record: 8-1-4-2
Consistency: 88%
Dirt: Great
Turf: Great
Distance: 8-11
Leg Type: Variable - Preceder/Mid
Racing Style: Ginny loads pretty easily, though tends to do better if she's the first in - sometimes the other horses being so close throws her off. She normally breaks on her toes, but she's not in any hurry, and can settle anywhere from a neck behind the leader to about mid-pack. She tends to listen to her jockey the best if she's not surrounded by other horses, because her dominant side tends to come out. Because of this, her jockey tends to try and get her outside if there's going to be a big pack. Luckily she's a long-legged filly, so normally being to the outside doesn't hurt her much. When she is finally given the cue to chase, she digs in hard, wanting nothing less than to come out on top.

Race Comments:
On 9f Indiana Derby
"Her age and willful personality gave her some advantage in this field. She's a great mare just coming into her own, and with your hard work she will most definitely go far. All she needs is some more experience. If I were you, I'd race her twice more and then check out the Spring Cup in February Week Four to get some bold on her record. If that field is too much for her, I'd stick to some regular races here and avoid the major stakes until she gets a bit more of a streak going. I think that by the middle of the year you'll have a solid stakes competitor if you play it right. Best of luck. ." -Sunfrost
